We are a 501c3 nonprofit that works to connect colonially marginalized youth to own-voices stories and authors.
Founded by Marianna Greene, Amplifying Voice for Youth was born out of a desire to connect own-voices books and authors with the own-voices readers who are represented in their work. We work with schools, teachers, libraries, and community organizations who are dedicated to inclusive education to increase students' access to representation through books and media, and we work with authors to help distribute their work to the communities that need them. We believe that anti-racist curriculum should indeed focus in part on explicitly anti-racist works, but that continuing to center whiteness in the anti-racist narrative continues to de-center BIPOC. By empowering youth to feel represented and celebrated, we work toward an implicitly anti-racist curriculum that advocates for, amplifies, compensates, and celebrates Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Aboriginal, and queer writers + youth. Representation heals. Representation empowers. Representation matters.

Please feel free to get in touch with any questions about our work, to request that your book be distributed to youth, or to request that we help your school, library, or community organization get access to diverse, inclusive, own-voices works.
